In 1988 he was invited to participate in the American Dance Festival in North Carolina, in 2001 he was chosen to represent Frente de Danza Independiente in the city of Boston and Washington DC's Lincoln Center, in the US.
Terry Araujo is one of the most prolific, innovative and revered choreographers in Ecuador. His choreographic language is technically demanding, rich and diverse, specializing in a playful sense of humour and an ironic way of portraying urban themes. He choreographs extensively for non-traditional performance spaces.
In 2003, he presented his work in Paris, France, and in 2004 in El Cairo, Egypt. He currently performs, teaches, and choreographs for two of the most prominent and contemporary dance companies in Ecuador: Frente de Danza Independiente and La Compañía Nacional de Danza.
